The remains of a North Carolina native who was killed by an Improvised Explosive Device blast earlier this week will pass through Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Monday, members of the 4th Fighter Wing confirmed this weekend.

Air Force Tech. Sgt. Adam Ginett, of Knightdale, who was stationed at Aviano Air Base, Italy, before deploying to Afghanistan with other members of the 31st Civil Engineer Squadron's explosive ordnance disposal flight, died Tuesday near Kandahar Air Field.

The Air Force will conduct a brief dignified transfer of the 29-year-old's remains at Seymour Johnson Monday afternoon in advance of his military funeral at Raleigh Memorial Park.
