Miss Johnston County pageant set for Feb. 20

The Miss Johnston County Scholarship Organization is now accepting contestants for the 2010 Miss Johnston County Scholarship Pageant and the 2010 Johnston County's and Garner's Outstanding Teen Pageants.
Both pageants will be held on Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium at Johnston Community College.
The Miss Johnston County Scholarship Pageant is a Miss America preliminary to Miss North Carolina. The Outstanding Teen pageants are America's Outstanding Teen preliminaries to North Carolina's Outstanding Teen. Contestants will compete in evening gown, talent, physical fitness, and interview.
The 2010 Miss Johnston County will receive a $1,000 cash scholarship, a $1,000 in-kind scholarship to Johnston Community College, and a $1,000 in-kind scholarship to Campbell University. She will go on to compete for more scholarship money and the title of Miss North Carolina.
Two Outstanding Teen winners will be crowned. Both the Johnston County's Outstanding Teen and Garner's Outstanding Teen will go on to compete for the title of North Carolina's Outstanding Teen.
Contestants for Miss Johnston County must be between the ages of 17-24 and a resident of or student is Johnston, Wake, Harnett, Sampson, Wayne, Wilson, or Nash County. Contestants for Johnston County's and Garner's Outstanding Teen must be between the ages of 13-17.
