Offices will be closed for most of this week

County and municipal offices as well as banks and the post office will operate on holiday schedules over the next two weeks.

Most county offices will be closed Dec. 21 through 25. The tax office, register of deeds and the pre-natal clinic (Health Department) will be open only on Wednesday, Dec. 23 during that week.

Emergency responders (OES, law enforcement, etc.) will be available as usual. The Solid Waste Department (landfill and convenience sites will close on Dec. 24 and 25 only.

The city of Goldsboro will observe Christmas holidays on Dec. 24 and 25. All sanitation services scheduled for Dec. 24 will be serviced as scheduled. Sanitation services scheduled for Dec. 25, will be serviced on Dec. 23.

The city will observe New Year's Day holiday on Jan. 1. All sanitation services scheduled for Jan. 1 will be serviced on Dec. 30.

Mount Olive town offices will be closed Dec. 23 through 25. Garbage will be picked up as scheduled on Dec. 24. Friday's garbage will be picked up on Saturday. The same schedule will be observed for the following week.

Waste Industries subscription residential county customers who are normally serviced on Friday for trash collection will be serviced on Saturday for the Christmas holiday.

The Goldsboro-Wayne Transportation Authority that operates the GATEWAY bus system will close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 24. Van service will not be provided after 1 p.m. that day.

The office staff will not be available to process reservations on Dec. 24 and 25. Passengers requesting van service for Dec. 26 and Dec. 28 must call and schedule transportation no later than 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 22.

Bus service will start at 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 24 and will not be provided after 1:30 p.m.

The office will be closed Dec. 25. Persons requesting van service for Dec. 29 must call and schedule it by 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 23.

The van service will operate on its normal schedule on Jan. 1. Persons requesting van service for Jan. 1, 2 and 4 must call and schedule transportation no later than 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 30.

The office staff will not be available to process reservations on Jan. 1. Persons requesting van service for Jan. 5 must call and schedule it no later than 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 31.

The bus service schedule for Jan. 1 will be 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The town of Faison government offices will be closed for the holidays on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Trash pickups on Thursday will run as scheduled on Thursday.

Duplin County government offices will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. County trash sites will be closed Christmas Eve.
