Mickey Eovine sells a bag of reindeer food to a classmate as his father, Mike, looks on during the Tommy's Road Elementary Mini Society and Market Day on Thursday. The two-month project culminates in the opportunity to put economics into action for the fifth-graders. On the day of the sale, the entire school is invited to shop for holiday items, with proceeds used to cover an overnight field trip in Washington, D.C. Today is the last day of classes for many students across the county, with early dismissal for Wayne County Public Schools. Classes will resume on Jan. 4.
