Pearl Harbor veterans sought for ceremony

WILMINGTON -- Planners preparing for the annual Southeastern North Carolina commemoration of the Dec. 7, 1941, Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor are looking for people in the eastern part of the state who are armed forces survivors of the attack or civilian witnesses to participate in the ceremony.
Sponsored by the World War II Wilmington Home Front Heritage Coalition, the upcoming 68th anniversary of the attack will be held at noon at the Pearl Harbor Survivors memorial in Battleship Park across the Cape Fear River from the federal building.
U.S. Rep. Mike McIntyre again will deliver the keynote speech.
