Weather puts damper on after-school activities

Inclement weather and the threat of high winds this evening prompted school officials to cancel all after school programs scheduled after 4:30 p.m. Also, the Raising Achievement and Closing Gap Information Session/Kitchen Table Conversation scheduled for tonight in Mount Olive has been postponed until further notice.
Several schools were also dismissed early -- Carver Heights Elementary, Dillard Middle, Goldsboro High, North Drive Elementary, School Street Elementary, and Wayne Academy. This will ensure shared buses are available for the Wayne School of Engineering to dismiss at 3:30 p.m. and the Wayne Early/Middle College High School to dismiss at 3:45 p.m.
