More than 1,200 high school seniors from Wayne County Public Schools will attend the second annual career fair, planned for Thursday at Goldsboro Family YMCA.
The event gives students a chance to see businesses in Wayne County and become aware of career opportunities that are available, said Tonya Faison, WCPS lead teacher for career and technical education. More than 70 businesses are expected to participate.
"We appreciate the many businesses partnering with the district in this career fair. Students will not only learn what participating businesses do, but they will also learn what kind of qualifications businesses are looking for in potential employees," Mrs. Faison said.
Students will begin arriving at the YMCA in groups by their school starting at 8:30 a.m. The event is expected to conclude by 11:30 a.m.
