MOUNT OLIVE -- A Seven Springs woman died after allegedly failing to yield the right-of-way to another vehicle on the U.S. 117 Bypass north of Mount Olive, causing an accident shortly before noon, according to the state Department of Crime Control and Public Safety.

Mary Bryant Quick, 48, of Red Hawk Trail, was traveling west on Country Club Road when she failed to yield the right-of-way to another vehicle, spokesperson Patty McQuillan said.

Ms. McQuillan said that initial reports based on Highway Patrol investigations show Ms. Quick's vehicle struck a car headed south on U.S. 117 around 11:20 a.m.

Sgt. Jeff Gordon of the Public Information Office said that Miracle McMillan, of Philadelphia, Pa,, was driving the other vehicle, a 2007 Hyundai.

Gordon said Ms. Quick was driving a 2005 Volkswagen

Ms. Quick was taken to a hospital, where she later died, Ms. McQuillan said.

The intersection of Country Club Road and the U.S. 117 Bypass is about 1.7 miles north of Mount Olive.

Firefighters from the Dudley Volunteer Fire Department responded to the wreck scene.
