No charges in fatal wreck

A Kinston woman died after alleged improper passing on N.C. 50 in Onslow County, a Highway Patrol sergeant said.
Carolina Russo died at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after an accident at the intersection of N.C. 50 and Haws Run Road, Sgt. Randy Moreau said.
Ms. Russo, 25, also had two passengers from the Goldsboro area in her vehicle, according to the report.
Brittany Carey, 24, and Laura Wetzel, 26, of Beech Street, both suffered evident injuries and were also transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center, the sergeant said.
Ms. Russo allegedly passed a vehicle stopped at the stop sign on N.C. 50 and Haws Run Road, Moreau said.
Vehicles traveling on Haws Run Road, running east and west, do not stop at the intersection, the sergeant said.
When Ms. Russo entered the T-shaped intersection, she lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree to the south of Haws Run Road, coming to rest in a drainage ditch, according to the report.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident, the sergeant said, and no citations were expected to be filed.
