Overkill: News coverage is too focused on covering Trump all the time

To watch the news on television one would think that all that is happening in the world is related in one way or another to President Donald Trump and his family and staff.

Aren't there still people dying around the world? Aren't there still people fighting for freedom? Isn't there still a problem with violence in our country? What happened to balance in news coverage?

If you turn on CNN it is the Donald Trump channel -- all Trump, all the time. We know the office of president is important and never more so than when the man occupying the office is behaving in a sometimes questionable manner. But CNN is becoming unbalanced in its coverage. It simply spends too much time tracking every move the White House makes.

We are not rabid fans of Trump. And we believe he should be the topic of news coverage whenever he says or does something outrageous, which we admit is quite often.

But we grow weary of hearing about his every move. And we don't think we are the only ones. People want to know what else is going on in the world.
