Pelosi: Some Democrats beginning to grumble about her leadership

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California is taking some heat from her fellow Democrats following another congressional loss, this one in Georgia.

Pelosi is 77 years old and has been in her House leadership position for well over a decade. She is a classic liberal, and there are members of her own party who have begun to question her ability to bring the party back to power in Washington.

She has dismissed the criticism, but it won't go away. She is oftentimes the Republicans' favorite chosen target. They like to link individual Democratic candidates to her in hope of damaging their chances at winning elections. They did that in Georgia.

So far, Pelosi has been defiant in the face of the critics, pointing to her experience and her fundraising ability.

But some Democratic members of the House are saying that unless the party takes back control of the chamber in 2018, they should begin to cast about for a new, perhaps younger, leader.

But who would that new leader be? The Democrats are in need of new blood, but at this point there doesn't seem to be any one fresh face out there ready to take over the reins. Time will tell, and soon, if there is someone in the wings able to do a better job.
