Trump marches on: Billionaire warns of riots if he is not nominated

Despite concerns about Donald Trump within the Republican Party, there was little or no action following Tuesday's vote that indicated a way to stop the billionaire's apparently inevitable march to the general election in November.

And Trump himself said on national TV that if he is not nominated rioting could break out among his followers, who would be angered by what they perceive as their disenfranchisement.

A chance for a third-party candidate to rise up from the ranks seems far-fetched at this point. A group of conservatives were to meet today to discuss the prospect of coalescing behind a third-party candidate, but no name has been bandied about as a possibility.

Trump has won 47 percent of the Republican delegates awarded so far. He needs to win 54 percent of those remaining to clinch the nomination by the time the primary season ends in early June.

And the primary season is now going to slow down, with no more Super Tuesday votes scheduled.

Trump demonstrated his growing power Wednesday by announcing that he would not take part in a planned debate Monday. Fox News decided to call it off.
