Chaos in the GOP: Soon, North Carolina enters the commotion

Having won two states each in Saturday's vote, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz gave notice that they are the Republican candidates to be reckoned with, and they seem headed for a fight this summer at the GOP convention.

Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida fell even further behind the two front-runners, both of whom called for him to drop out.

Cruz, the Texas senator, won Kansas and Maine, while Trump, the brash political newcomer, took Louisiana and Kentucky. Trump still leads in the number of delegates needed to win the nomination.

Meanwhile, Democrat Bernie Sanders got wins in Nebraska and Kansas while his opponent, Hillary Clinton, took Louisiana. She still leads in the number of delegates, but Sanders just won't go away.

The battles show no signs of letting up, with another big test coming up next week, when North Carolina will get into the action. But Florida is the big prize, with 99 delegates at stake. Rubio has served notice that he expects to win his home state, but unless he does you can look for him to consider giving up despite his backing from the GOP establishment.
