Inspiration: Tuskegee Airmen's legacy lives on in pilots, students

Heroes often come in unassuming packages -- but they leave impressions that last a lifetime.

Such is the case with the men who served as Tuskegee Airmen -- and those who were inspired by their story.

They served at a time when it was difficult, when there was little recognition for their courage and success. Yet their accomplishments are legendary.

It was not about glory. It was about their country -- and that is what makes them so special.

These men live on in the stories that have made generations of young men think that they could also take to the skies.

Those who have served since gathered this week to preserve the legacy of these brave young airmen who paved the way.

It was evident in the stories and the memories just how much their lives have been impacted -- and how they are paying that same inspiration forward.

They are helping to create the next generation of young fliers and young men who will lead this country in the future.

These Tuskegee Airmen changed history and their legacy lives on in the young men whom they inspire today.

There could be no bigger honor.
