One last plea: Your dollars could help find a cure for cancer

When you believe in something, you want other people to support it and to appreciate it, too.

That's the reason The News-Argus has been so supportive of the Relay for Life effort every year.

Many of us here have personal knowledge of what it is like to lose a loved one to cancer -- and would give anything to have that family member or friend back and healthy.

So we know that every dollar that is raised and donated to research is one more chance that there will be a cure someday.

Come on down to the fairgrounds tonight. Spend an hour or so and walk around the midway. There will be plenty of cheap things to eat -- and fun and games all around.

Relay for Life is a good time and an inexpensive way to make a difference. Every dollar counts in this fight.

And, if you do come, be prepared. It is not possible to leave a Relay event without being moved by the faith, the courage and the hope of those who are battling cancer -- or to shed just a tear or two for those whose memories are all their loved ones have left. The luminaria ceremony is not to be missed.

It will make you appreciate the people in your life who matter so much.

So join us and the thousands of others who will be at the fairgrounds. It will be an evening well spent. We guarantee it.
