Don't miss roll: Today or tomorrow, this is the moment when we remember

Rain could cause a delay, but either this evening or Saturday, the roll of the names of men from this area who lost their lives in Vietnam will be read.

It will be touching.

It will be hard to hear, especially if you knew one of the men whose name will be on the list.

But it will be the culmination of several days of events, speakers and ceremonies marking The Wall That Heals' visit to Goldsboro.

And you won't want to miss it.

The wall will be here for a couple more days, with a closing ceremony set for Sunday.

It is more than worth a couple of hours of your time -- and your children's time -- to make a trip to Wayne Community College to see it.

In addition to the wall, which is a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, there is a museum as well as a display of military helicopters on site.

In other words, there is a lot of history to experience during a visit to WCC this weekend.

But as important as the displays and the wall are the lessons that can be learned about courage, sacrifice ... and gratitude.

You couldn't ask for a better way to spend part of an afternoon.
