Easter threat: Looks like White House will let the Easter eggs roll

They won't be able to take a tour, but it looks like youngsters visiting the White House over spring break will be able to roll an egg or two.

The annual White House Easter egg roll was threatened earlier this month by budget Chicken Littles as the Obama administration sent out more dire predictions in the wake of the sequestration and a possible government shutdown.

But, surprise surprise, looks like eggs will roll at the White House.

And to that we have only one word to say: Duh.

There is no question that there has been more than a little chicanery when it comes to the end of the world predictions associated with the recent budget battles.

It would seem that the places that were chosen to be impacted by the money woes were strategic -- designed to elicit horror from the citizenry.

There should be tours of the White House this week and there should be an Easter egg hunt -- no question. All we have to do is cut a few White House and Congressional perks.

That's a no-brainer.
