Dancers ready: Donate now to help fund programs to help schools

The actual performance might be a few weeks away, but the battle to claim the dancing crown in Wayne County is in full swing.

From eager administrators to business people with winning on their minds, there are plenty of people who are ready and willing to sell you a ticket or to take your donation for the annual dancing competition.

The proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Wayne Education Network -- an arm of the county Chamber of Commerce. The group's mission? To improve education in Wayne County, one classroom at a time.

So pick your favorite and get your tickets. Your money will go toward not only a trophy for the winner, but toward improving education and, ultimately, your county's future.

And just in case you aren't sure for whom to vote, our favorite is Phyllis Moore. (No, we are not prejudiced.)
