Gas prices: Controlling energy prices should be goal of second four years

Did you notice while you were buying your Powerball ticket this week that $3.20 for gas is starting to look good?

And the scary thing is that it was not that long ago when prices were hovering just over a dollar -- and we were complaining then.

There are plenty of things newly re-elected President Barack Obama needs to work on when he takes his office back over in January.

Jobs should be his first priority -- or, at least, not destroying the economy any further.

But after that, he is going to have to keep a close eye on the increasing cost of transportation -- and to get something done about it.

The administration's energy policy to this point has done nothing except destroy the coal industry and waste billions of dollars on solar panel companies and "green" cars nobody wants.

And the next concern is a newly unleashed EPA could have a devastating effect on new business and energy exploration.

So keep a close watch, not only on the pumps, but the decrees coming out of Washington.

There could be rough seas ahead.
