Just vote: Pundits are pretending they have the answers, but they don't

You will hear them all day today -- predictions that the election is over and that your vote doesn't matter.

You will see a myriad of exit polls as well as hours of analysis now and through the rest of Election Day.

Some of those comments will advise you that there is no need to vote and that one candidate has the market cornered on votes.

Don't listen -- well, at least after you "listen" to this.

We advise you to remember when the analysts told Florida voters in 2004 that the election was decided and that the state had been won. The voters in the Panhandle stayed home. You remember how that turned out.

No one really knows what the final story of this election will be. Most people have put the battle for president of the United States at a dead heat. And that means that no one is really sure enough to go out on a limb and declare a winner.

And it also means that this one won't be over until the last ballot sings.

So do your duty. Cast your vote and be proud that you were part of making history today.

This year, for sure, no matter for whom you vote, or what anyone says, your vote will count. Just make sure you are the one deciding to cast it.
