Proud, and first: Wing earns honors, again

Not that we are all that surprised.

The 4th Fighter Wing at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base has been recognized once again among the Air Force's elite units by Air Combat Command.

The award is for overall excellence in the accomplishment of the wing's mission both at home and abroad.

The honor is significant and the achievement great -- and all those involved should be proud of the recognition they have earned.

The community that surrounds SJAFB is well aware of the accomplishments, the professionalism and the good works of the men and women who serve on base.

So it is nice when we can celebrate with them as they achieve something that seems to have become a habit -- excellence.

Congratulations go to the airmen and their leaders for a job well done.
