Service first: Middle school students have right view on caring for others

Crystal Wooten, Tela Bivins, Katie Leahy, Reyann Legarreta, Tamia Troublefield and Davia Webb didn't form their club for the glory.

In fact, they really do not want attention for their projects. For them, it is all about the people they are helping.

The Greenwood Middle School students have it exactly right.

Their Care Teens group is small, focused and determined to make a difference, no matter how large or small it is.

And that is what makes them special.

It is really true that even one small effort can change the world -- and these girls know exactly what that means.

They should be proud of what they are doing.

They certainly are an inspiration for the rest of us who sometimes doubt one voice even matters anymore. They are proof it does.
