Ready to relay: Volunteers are sure -- it is going to be a good year

There are more than a few people around North Carolina who would like to know how Wayne County manages to put on one of the best Relay for Lifes in the country.

Those who are involved with the event each year know the answer -- the best group of volunteers and a community dedicated to the cause make this event successful.

As the Relay for Life volunteers kick off another year -- and celebrate their achievements from last year -- they are remembering those who are fighting, those who are gone and those who have won their battles with cancer.

That is why they Relay.

And that is why this community should continue to be in their corner when they do.

No one really knows when the dollar will be spent that will find the cure for cancer.

And this county will keep fighting until it is.
