Local, too: There are going to be others to look at this election season

Just a little reminder -- just in case you have already had your fill of election year politics.

If you can't stand one more minute of the Republican nomination battle and are dreading the start of the general campaign, prepare yourself, there is even more politics in your future.

This is the year we elect a whole new slate of local leaders, too.

We will have a bunch more politicians to ask questions about and more answers to listen to before the end of the year rolls around.

So how do you prepare for this onslaught of baby-kissing and promise-making?

Start making your list now of the priorities you have for your city and county and refuse to elect anyone who isn't serious about answering your concerns.

And hunker down, it is going to be a long year.
