Still time to give: Take a donation down to help feed more county families

It is a sobering thought to think that perhaps the organizations founded to help the needy in Wayne County are not sure they have all they need to feed everyone who might be hungry this Thanksgiving.

But the good news is that there is still time to fix it -- if a few of us make a few last-minute sacrifices to help those who will not have anywhere else to turn this holiday season.

So, if you can, swing by one of the organizations listed on today's front page and bring a monetary donation, canned food, a turkey, a pie or a jug of sweet tea, whatever you can afford.

You just might help the Community Soup Kitchen, the Community Crisis Center or the Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Association's Outreach Ministry feed just one more family or one more shut-in.

Thanksgiving is supposed to be about sharing -- and thank goodness Wayne County has proven again and again that this community knows what that means.

Now, we are needed again, quickly, to make a difference for others.

Let's see what we can do to help.
