Court intervenes: Country needs a definitive answer on health care reform

The Supreme Court announced this morning that it would listen to arguments from those who say there is reason to challenge the constitutionality of the Obama health care reform law.

And it is about time.

The arguments have gone on for years about what the government can and should do about health care and whether the law passed early in the president's term is proper, correct and legal.

And now, we are going to know for sure.

There will continue to be debate over the right way to handle providing health care in this country. And there will still be arguments about whether the president and the Democrats got it right.

But without some sort of decision -- and a real analysis by a court of law -- it is impossible for anyone to move forward.

And those who are in the health care business know, not being sure how to move forward is the best way to make a mistake.

The Supreme Court's review is step one. After that, the American people can decide what they want.

That is the right thing to do.
