One last push: Volunteers have worked hard to make campaign a success.

If you want to help your community one life at a time, there is still time to be a part of the 2010 United Way campaign.

Campaign chairman Lynn Williams and her army of loaned executives and campaign volunteers have worked hard to bring the message to the community about United Way and why giving is so important.

Unfortunately, Thursday night, she was not able to end the campaign with the exclamation point of hitting that magic campaign goal number. But she and her "elves" are not done yet.

There are a couple of weeks left in the month, and Mrs. Williams and the other volunteers are vowing to continue to try to raise as much money as possible before the year ends. The closer they get to the goal, the more people the United Way can help.

And to do that, they need to hear from all of you out there who have not yet signed a pledge card or who have not filled out a check to this community drive.

The number of agencies -- and, in turn, people -- the United Way helps makes it one of the most efficient ways to get money to those who need it the most.

Every year, the goal is set to meet those needs.

Without the money, there are people who will go without this year. Not making the goal will definitely have an impact.

So, if you can, donate. Your efforts could make 2011 a little brighter for one of your neighbors.
