Have your say: There’s lots to comment on; speak now or hold your peace

One of the most frustrating aspects of presenting a new idea or a plan to implement a long-awaited change is waiting for the inevitable naysayers and second-guessers.

They usually do not appear when the project is in its infancy and their opinions could help make the idea more effective or reasonable.

These people usually wait until the decision has been made — and then critique it.

Goldsboro and Wayne County have several plans, projects and other ideas on the front burner right now. There are many people in this community who could contribute wise counsel to discussions of priorities and the Paramount, animal shelter, community building, civic center, school facilities and Stoney Creek Park.

Now is the time to speak up if you have an idea to contribute or an opinion on what the city or county’s next steps should be. Offering your suggestions now could shape the direction of the process and might even provide an idea no one has considered to this point.

That kind of collaboration is what will make a successful and viable plan for one or all of these projects.

The final decision on some of these projects is still a few weeks or months away, so there is plenty of time to share your thoughts. But don’t wait too long. This is your chance to have your voice heard.

Wayne County and Goldsboro officials are making some serious decisions that will directly impact the future of this community. Be a part of the process.
