Good news: Our folks pleased

That relatively new jet passenger service between Kinston Regional Airport and Atlanta is doing well, thank you. And business appears to be improving steadily.

Delta Airlines initiated the service three months ago. At last report, flights are averaging about two-thirds full — and increasing.

Please note that Kinston is a regional airport. Wayne County folks can be there in 30 minutes. So can those from Greenville. Neither the highways, the parking lot nor the terminal building are congested. Parking not only is free but a short walk to the terminal.

Folks picking up their tickets also receive a free muffin and coffee — along with a genuinely warm welcome.

Morning, afternoon and evening schedules are convenient and may be improved. Prices are reasonable.

Area residents using the flights — incoming as well as the outgoing service — have expressed their pleasure with what is being provided.

With today’s heavy highway traffic, parking costs, congestion and hassle encountered at major airports, folks hereabout would do well to look first to Kinston Regional Airport and Delta’s available service when planning trips.
