WAYNE JACKSON
Aug. 14, 1958-July 12, 2018
Carroll Wayne Jackson, 59, longtime resident of the Beautancus community, Seven Springs, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018.
Wayne was born Aug. 14, 1958, to Nita Jackson and the late Edward Carroll Jackson.
A true lover of the outdoors, Wayne savored the many hours he spent fishing and hunting. Whether standing at the edge of the river or the bank of a pond or in the open water on a boat, the tug of a fish on the line, no matter the size, always brought a big smile.
Wayne’s love for the outdoors was groomed while walking in his grandfather’s shadow.
Often described as a gentle giant or stronger than an ox, Wayne was someone with a big heart for helping others. He never said no, was an excellent listener and protected those he loved.
Wayne truly cared about his family and friends. He was often sought out for good practical advice. His warm sense of humor, positive outlook and tremendous smile were uplifting to everyone with whom he came in contact.
A walking miracle, Wayne’s 14-year battle with cancer was an inspiration to family and friends. He believed in living life to the fullest and always being ready to go.
Wayne was a lover of horses. Many great memories and friendships were made while sitting in the saddle. He loved trail riding and training cutting horses. His passion for horses could be seen in the many awards he won during cutting horse competitions.
Whether checking out the crops or his beloved sunflowers or looking the best place to hunt, Wayne loved riding his four wheeler.
Many people have fond memories of Wayne’s work with Beautancus Tree Farm. His larger-than-life personality made this the ideal place to work during the Christmas season.
In earlier years, Wayne farmed, worked with Quinn Wholesale and last worked with the North Carolina Department of Transportation Bridge Department.
We rejoice in the many fond memories Wayne gave us.
A service to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held Monday, July 16, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow at Seven Springs Cemetery.
