Margaret Lancaster Matthews, 88, Goldsboro, went home to the Lord Tuesday.
Graveside service will be held Sunday 3 p.m. at Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, with the family receiving friends immediately following the service. The Rev. Kelvin Gurley will officiate.
Margaret was a member of Daniels Chapel Free Will Baptist Church for more than 65 years, and a member of Order of Eastern Star.
Margaret is survived by her sons, Kent Matthews of Goldsboro and Allan Matthews of Wilmington; granddaughter, Hannah M. Chitwood and husband, Ryan of Wilmington; great-grandchild, Lilly Chitwood of Wilmington; her brother, Michael Lancaster of Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews; and Connie Kirby Hare, her niece and caregiver, of Goldsboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Matthews, and parents, Reb and Lillie Lancaster.
