Marion Charles Penny, 90, died Thursday at home.
A graveside service for family and friends was held Saturday at the Neal Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Jeff Jones officiating.
He was born in Wake County to the late Ralph Leonidas Penny and Susan Wilmot Stephenson Penny.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; five daughters; and two sons.
