Alice Gale Sasser, 70, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Pikeville. Interment will follow at Silas-Pike Cemetery in Pikeville.
Born and raised in Wayne County, she was an active member of Pikeville First Baptist Church where she was serving as secretary and treasurer. Gale worked for many years and retired from Whitley Insurance in Fremont.
Gale had a passion for cooking, but her first love was for her boys, grandkids and great-grandkids.
She is survived by a loving husband of 55 years to L.G. Sasser; three sons, Larry Sasser and wife, Ronda, of Fremont, Lynwood Sasser and fiancée, Brenda Kearney, of Pikeville and Brian Sasser and wife, Sarah, of Fremont; grandchildren, Dustin Sasser of Pikeville, Daniel Sasser and fiancée, Amber Tyndall, of Pikeville, Brittany King and husband, Scott, of Winston-Salem, Johnathan Sasser of Fremont, Karley Sasser of Fremont, and Danny Spencer and girlfriend, Camille Stocks, of Stantonsburg; four great-grandkids; two brothers, Garland Pike of Pikeville and Cedric Pike of Richmond, Va.; and one sister, Alma Ellis of Wilson.
In addition to her parents, Nathan and Ethel Pike, Gale was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Peele; and stepgrandson, Mike Spencer.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
