Mr. Lemuel Gordon Raynor, 69, Goldsboro, N.C., went to his heavenly home May 13, 2018, at his residence.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018, noon at Woods Chapel United American Free Will Baptist Church, 928 E. New Hope Road, Goldsboro, N.C. Elder George Dupree officiating. Mr. Raynor will then travel his resting place at Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery, Dudley, N.C., with Masonic rites.
A public visitation will be held Friday, May 11, 2018, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Bishop Lonnie E. Holloway Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. A wake will then be held Friday, May 11, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Woods Chapel United American Free Will Baptist Church, where Masonic rites will be given from 7 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Raynor attended Wayne County public schools, where he graduated in the historical class of 1969 from Dillard High School.
After graduating high school, he saw the need to help others, and started working at O’Berry Center, where he worked for more than 33 years, and retired in 2005.
Mr. Raynor leaves to cherish his memories, Henrietta Raynor of the home; two sons, David Brewington and Blane (TaKisla) Hooker of Greensboro; two daughters, Marquita Hooker of Goldsboro and Ashley Hooker of Greenville, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; four sisters; one brother; and mother-in-law, Laura W. Prather.
