EDNA D. BAKER

Edna Davis Baker, 99, died Wednesday at Wayne UNC Health Care.
She was born in Greene County to the late Rete and Polly Suggs Davism and was married to the late Floyd Parker Baker.
A member of Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church, Mrs. Baker taught the nursery class for 29 years.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dwayne Batten and the Rev. Sherman Dilley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends for one hour prior to the funeral.
Mrs. Baker is survived by two sons, Joe W. Baker and wife, Jeanette, and the Rev. Fred P. Baker and wife, Linda; one daughter, Shirley Carter and husband, Billy; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
