RUTH TAYLOR
May 13, 1933-March 20, 2018
Miss Ruth Taylor passed away early Tuesday morning at the place she loved best -- her home -- in the Pleasant Grove community near Mount Olive. She was 84 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Carrie Alphin Taylor; her brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Annie Mae Taylor; and a dear cousin, Herman Hines, who had lived with the family.
Miss Taylor is survived by her longtime special friend, Braxton "Coon" Wade of LaGrange; a longtime friend and assistant to the family, Peggy Watts Dickerson and husband, Glen, of Mount Olive; nephews, Shelton Taylor and his wife, Elizabeth, of Cameron, N.C., and Stevie Taylor and his companion, Becky Davis, of Albertson; niece, Cynthia Taylor and husband, Randy Dalley, of Linden; and great-nephews, Jamey Hinson, J.L. Taylor, Tim Taylor, Scott Taylor and Daniel Hanchey, and their families.
A graduate of B.F. Grady High School, Miss Taylor enjoyed a quiet country life as being a homemaker and assisting her parents and brother on the family farm and in the operation of Taylor's Nursery and Plant Farm, all the while caring for ailing family members when the need arose.
Visitation will be at Tyndall Funeral Home Friday, March 23, beginning at 1 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Ashley Summerlin, with burial following in Will Taylor Family Cemetery on the family farm.
