JULIA BERRY CRUMPLER

Died Feb. 15, 2018

Julia Berry Crumpler, 78, Goldsboro, passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at Wayne UNC Health Care.

Julia was born and raised in the Nahunta community to the late Rodney Harris Berry and Ila Mae Gurley Berry.

She was a graduate of Nahunta School, and grew up in Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

Julia later joined the membership of First Presbyterian Church in Goldsboro.

She was a graduate of Wilson School of Nursing, and later embarked on a career as a registered nurse with Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A service to celebrate Julia's life will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at 2 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Robert Bardin officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday following the service in McChesney Hall at the church and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Philip Brogden.

Julia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kim Brogden and husband, Philip, of Goldsboro; son, Walter Crumpler III of Goldsboro; sisters, Louise Phillips of Goldsboro, Belle Little and husband, Bill, of Kenly and Margaret Radford and husband, Maurice, of Albemarle; grandchildren, Harris Brogden, Ethan Brogden and Andrew Crumpler; sister-in-law, Ava White of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter B. Crumpler Jr., and brothers, David Berry and Leslie Berry.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to First Presbyterian Church, 1101 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
