PEGGY ANN HALES CARLISLE

Peggy Ann Hales Carlisle, 82, Princeton, N.C., went to be with her Lord Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at SECU Hospice House of Johnston Health surrounded by her family.
Born in Wayne County July 27, 1935, to the late Charles Wilbert Hales and Mabel Rich Hales.
She was owner/operator of Princeton Piggly Wiggly, along with her husband, George Sr., and son, Joe.
Peggy was a longtime member of Princeton Baptist Church, where she served many years as a Sunday school teacher.
She loved working in her flowers and spending time at their mountain house. She was an awesome cook, and was known for her holiday fruitcakes.
Funeral services were held at Princeton Baptist Church Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, 4:30 p.m., with the Rev. Wayne Batten and Rev. Bill Rose officiating.
The family received friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
A committal service will be at Evergreen Cemetery Monday, 11 a.m.
Peggy is survived by her husband, George W. Carlisle Sr.; daughter, Peggy LeVerne Carlisle and significant other, Susan Spurgeon of Deep Gap, N.C.; sons, George W. Carlisle Jr. and wife, Sharan, of Huntersville, N.C., Joseph T. Carlisle of Princeton, N.C., and B. Timothy Carlisle and wife, Pam, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; granddaughters, Lauren and Kayla; her sister, Evelyn Clay of Enfield, N.C.; and brother, Hugh Hales of Tarboro, N.C.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given to Princeton Baptist Church, 211 S. Pearl St., Princeton, N.C., 27569, or SECU Hospice House of Johnston Health, P.O. Box 1376, Smithfield, N.C.
We would like to give a very special thank you to Andrea Moore, Patricia Wolfe and Carmen Albritten, who provided loving care for Peggy during her latter years.
We would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital and SECU Hospice House of Johnston Health for the care it provided Peggy during her final days.
