Mother Janice Artis, 70, 1008 N. John St., peacefully succumbed to the silent halls of death Friday evening in Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
She was born Thursday, Sept. 11, 1947, in Wayne County to Wiley and Vernettie Armwood Reid Sr.
Eulogistic services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Word of Truth Christian Fellowship. Her mortal remains will be laid to rest in Wayne Memorial Park.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories one daughter, LaShonda Artis of the home; two sons, Linwood (Traron) Artis and minister Dwight (Cawania) Artis both of Goldsboro, N.C.; one sister, Rose (Robert) Artis of Goldsboro, N.C.; one brother, elder Wiley (Nancy) Reid Jr. of Goldsboro, N.C.; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends.
The family will receive friends during an inspirational wake Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. At other times, the family will receive friends at residence, where it will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
