Bessie Lorraine Jones, 215 Randall Lane, Goldsboro, quietly bade this world goodbye, Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Barnes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1108 Rosewood Road, Goldsboro, N.C. The Rev. Dr. Michael Johnson will officiate, and interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park South, Dudley, N.C.
There will be a wake held Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, from 6 to 7 p.m. at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations of Goldsboro.
She was born Jan. 21, 1939, in Wayne County, N.C., to Bessie Jones and Willie Cox.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Jones of the home; four grandchildren, including Reteva Jones, whom she reared; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Wilma Harvey of Goldsboro; one brother, Linwood Jones of Goldsboro; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Three special caregivers, Shanita Walker, Linda Hobbs and the Rev. Geraldine Edwards.
Services of compassionate and distinguished class entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home of Goldsboro.
