BETTY JEAN PEARSALL HANKINS

Betty Jean Pearsall Hankins, 91, Goldsboro, went to be with her Lord Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at the Brian Center.
Betty was born in Wake County July 4, 1926, to the late William and Virginia C. Pearsall. She was married to the late Robert George Hankins Sr.
Betty loved Westwood United Methodist Church, and was a dedicated and faithful servant her entire life.
Her most significant role in life, and what she did best, was being a loving mother and grandmother to her family.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate Betty's life at 11 a.m. in the chapel, with pastor Terry Hobbs officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Geraldine "Jerry" Hales and husband, Jimmy, of Goldsboro and Sandra Jean Trimnal of Statesville; sons, Phillip Ray Hankins and wife, Kay, of Raleigh, Donald Edward Hankins and wife, Dianne, of Statesville and Bob Hankins Jr. and wife, Dot, of Goldsboro; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by a granddaughter and her sisters and brothers.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given to Westwood United Methodist Church, 130 Short St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care Betty received from the staff of the Brian Center and Rehabilitation for the past 18 months.
The family also very much appreciates the faithful visits to Betty by the Brothers Keepers of Westwood United Methodist Church.
