Helen Morgan Hassell, 91, Goldsboro, went to be with her Lord Monday, July 31, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Helen was born in Johnston County June 12, 1926, to the late Bennett Vester Morgan and Thelma Roberts Morgan.
She enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends.
She had been a valued employee of Kadis Department Store in Goldsboro for many years.
However, her greatest joy was when she was able to talk about God and listen to good Christian music.
Helen had been a member of the Edgewood Church in Goldsboro, where she had served as president of the Friendship Sunday school class, and was a trustee of the William Carter Bible College. She was currently a member of Pleasant Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church.
A service to celebrate Helen's life will be held Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with Rev. Barry Stallings officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday following the service at the funeral home and at other times, at the home of Hardy and Linda Sullivan, 1205 Park Ave. B, Goldsboro, N.C.
Interment will be Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Helen is survived by her husband of 55 years, Roy Henry Hassell Sr., and several cousins and extended family she loved very much.
