MARILYN BRYAN SHOAF

Marilyn Bryan Shoaf, 81, Goldsboro, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Wayne UNC Health Care surrounded by her family.
Marilyn was born in Sampson County on Oct. 8, 1935, to the late Marion and Annie Jinnette Bryan, and was married to the late Ellis Steve Shoaf. She had retired from Lockheed-Martin. Marilyn had a sparkle in her eye and a deep love for her family. Her strength and courage during challenging times inspired all who knew her. Marilyn will be remembered for her spirited sense of humor and a deep love for flowers and her pets.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 24, 2017, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Freedom Baptist Church, followed by a service celebrating Marilyn's life at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Jonathan Smith officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Newton Grove.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Rick Moore and wife, Carol; grandchildren, Tricia Colombo and husband, Michael, of Melrose, Mass., Eric Moore and wife, Erin, of Clinton, N.Y., and Jesse Moore and wife, Erin, of Taylors, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Thomas Colombo, Elliott, Lizzie, Everett and Ethan Moore, Scott Moore and she was anticipating the birth of another great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Maggie Joyce Bennett of Newton Grove; and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Clarence Bryan; and sister, Marie Denning.
