Rosa Taylor Minchew died Saturday at Woodard's Care.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Margaret Taylor, wife of the late James Ollie Minchew for 54 years and mother of the late Gary Minchew.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Billy Taylor and Louis Taylor, and sisters, Elizabeth Aldridge, Pauline Farrell, Helen Pope and Zilphia Mercer.
Rosa was a longtime member of Love Memorial Baptist Church, and was a nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital for 32 years.
A service to celebrate Rosa's life will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Toler and the Rev. Bobby Heath officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Family members will greet friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the home of her grandson, Jay Minchew, 314 Clay Brook Drive, Goldsboro.
Rosa is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Gail Minchew; a sister, Marjorie Ridoutt; grandchildren, Jeff Minchew, Jay and Cindy Minchew, Bill Minchew, Christopher Minchew and Jamie and Chris Hobbs; stepgrandchildren, Porter Jones and Marshall Jones; great-grandchildren, Ashley Minchew, Mackenzie Minchew, Mason Minchew and Blake Price; and a niece, Elizabeth Jo Heath and husband, Bobby.
