Mr. James Waddell Ashford Sr., 85, Mount Olive, N.C., departed this life Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center of Goldsboro, N.C., with his family by his side.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Lillian Oliver Ashford.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017, at noon at St. Mark Free Will Baptist Church, 222 Nelson St., Mount Olive, N.C., with elder Merwyn K. Smith officiating. Interment will be at Carver Memorial Park with Masonic Rites in Mount Olive, N.C.
Mr. Ashford will lie in state at the church an hour prior to the service.
The family will assemble for the processional at 322 Thunderswamp Road, Mount Olive, N.C., at 11 a.m.
A public visitation will be held Friday, April 14, 2017, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
