Imelda Geraldine "Mel" Moore Suggs, 77, LaGrange, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017.
A native of Greene County, she was born Aug. 11, 1939, the daughter of the late Norville Eugene "Doc" Moore and Doris Hart Moore.
She was a member of Free Gospel PFWB Church where she participated in the choir.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at the Snow Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Parks officiating.
In addition to her parents, Mel was preceded in death by her husband, James H. "Pee Wee" Suggs; a son, James Alan Suggs; a grandson, Matthew Daniel Sugg; and brothers, Edward Royce Moore and Raymond Eugene Moore.
Her surviving family includes a daughter, Rhonda Suggs Fleming and husband, Neil, of Lansdale, Pa.; sons, Danny Ray Sugg and wife, Cindy, of Snow Hill, Jeffrey H. Suggs and wife, Jane, of Seven Springs, Christopher Lee Suggs and wife, Wanda, of Wade, and Jimmy N. Suggs and wife, Pam, of Snow Hill; grandchildren, Stephen Fleming and wife, Dr. Lisa Fleming, of Boston, Mass., Katherine Fleming Bordlemay and husband, Brett, of New York, N.Y., Meredith Sugg Ange and husband, Nathan, of Willow Spring, Jeffrey Allen Suggs and Carole Ann Suggs, both of Seven Springs, Sarah Bethany Suggs, Christopher Lane Suggs, James Bradley Suggs, all of Wade, and Nicholas Jordan Suggs and Alex Aldridge Suggs, both of Snow Hill; great-grandchildren, Noah, Avery and Annabella Fleming of Boston, Mass., Collin Mathew Ange of Willow Spring; sisters, Lou Ellen Barrow and Joyce Keel, both of Snow Hill; and a brother, Tommy Eugene Moore of Winterville.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the residence of Jimmy and Pam Suggs, 2306 Free Gospel Road, Snow Hill.
