Died Feb. 14, 2017
Ernestine Outlaw Hudson, 86, passed away quietly at home in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017. Loved ones and several dear friends were at hand when death came.
She was a resident of the Outlaw's Bridge/Pleasant Grove community near Albertson.
Known locally as "Tootsie," she was an icon in her community as having operated Outlaw's Grill (sometimes referred to as simply "Tootsie's") from February 1959 until her retirement Dec. 31, 1999, and which is still in operation today under the leadership of her family.
Her kind and caring ways endeared her to the hearts of all. She was, indeed, a true friend to her family and community.
Mrs. Hudson was a loyal member of Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served in numerous other capacities. Her church family lovingly celebrated her Christian example in a special called service last fall.
Funeral services to remember her good and godly life will be held Thursday night, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by pastor Mark S. Hobbs, with visitation following. Graveside committal services will be Friday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m. at Snow Hill Free Baptist Church Cemetery.
