Carlene Spear Hatem, 74, Goldsboro, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.
Mrs. Hatem was born Aug. 3, 1942, in Boston, Mass., to the late Carl and Mildred Spear.
She is survived by her husband, Laurence “Larry” Hatem; son, Paul Hatem of Dudley; two daughters, Debra Williams and husband, Johnny, of Goldsboro and Karen Paynter and husband, Richard, of Creedmoor; brother, Paul Spear of Florida; four grandchildren, David Williams, Kristen Paynter, Nick Hatem and Ryan Paynter; and two great-grandchildren, Payton and Nicholas.
She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Hatem Jr.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
