Nellie Iris Lee Potter, Albertson, returned home to her loving Heavenly Father Jan. 11, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Potter; her son, Jacob Potter Jr.; her parents, Walter and Nannie Mae Lee; and brothers, Andrew Lee and Lehman Lee.
She is survived by her children, Becky and husband, Joe Scott, of Mount Olive, Gail and her husband, Herb Heil, of Deep Run and Debbie and her husband, Dennis Howard, of Deep Run.
She had a special love and devotion to her grandchildren, Heidi and her husband, Jerimia Loveless, Jacob and his wife, Amanda Scott, Jonathan and his wife, Shannon Scott, Jason Scott, Megan and her husband, Nephi Lawson, Leighton Howard and Andrew Howard.
Nellie was also very blessed to have several great-grandchildren as well, Hailey Loveless, Garret Loveless, Ashley Loveless, Logan Loveless, Zachary Loveless, Bethany Loveless, Alyssa Scott, Ashlyn Scott, Abigail Scott, Madeline Carlton, Lila Elizabeth Scott, Landon Scott, Aiden Lawson, Laurel Lawson and Cameron Lawson.
She is also survived by her five younger siblings, Viney Grace "Sweetie" Potter, Lewis Lee, Walter Lee Jr., Joyce Barnett and Jimmy Lee.
Nellie led an exemplary life of Christlike service both in her church and community.
She and her husband, J.C., enjoyed operating Potter's Pool for all in the community to come and join in fellowship.
Nellie was truly a person who loved life and her fellow man. She had a divine gift of seeing the very best in every person. Hers was truly a life to be cherished.

Visitation will be held at Pink Hill Funeral Home Friday, Jan. 13, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Albertson, N.C. 111 and N.C. 903, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14. Burial will follow in Lee Cemetery in Deep Run.
Family will be receiving friends at other times at the home of Nellie Potter.
