MARY CAMPBELL BARWICK SPENCE

Mary Campbell Barwick Spence, 82, Kinston, passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at Vidant Inpatient Hospice.
She was the wife of the late Edward Carroll Spence Sr.
Mary was an active member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church.
She taught school in Lenoir County for more than 35 years.
She was also involved in various community organizations, including Delta Kappa Gamma, Retired School Personnel and Relay for Life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Lehman and Izora Whitfield Barwick; brothers, James Fletcher Barwick and DeLeon Whitfield Barwick; and grandson, Tyler Carroll Spence.
Mary is survived by her children, Edward Carroll Spence Jr. and wife, Beth, Terry Benton and husband, Ken, and Connie Belmore and husband, Norm; grandchildren, Eddie Aycock, Andrew Belmore and wife, Carrie, Karen Vernon and husband, Preston, Courtney Spence, David Benton and wife, Elizabeth, Matthew Belmore and fianceé, Cassidy, and Caroline Belmore; and great-grandchildren, Will Belmore and Carter Vernon.
Visitation will be held 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church and other times at her home.
Funeral service will be held following the visitation, with pastor Chris Truett officiating. Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Free will Baptist Church, Legacy Project, 1936 Banks School Road, Kinston, N.C., 28504.
